Air & Space

A post by demand.
Aka: Paying penance assigned by Father Floppys and Sister Zsa Zsa.

Last week Dave & I took a quick trip to the National Air & Space Museum's Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, VA. Dave got to stand around looking at airplanes for a day along with a little R&R - a much needed break.

And for the first time in 10 months, I got to sleep on a real bed!
(the bed experience didn't count for Dave, he got to sleep on one for a whole week back in January)

Despite the comfy bed, this was the highlight of the trip...
Space Shuttle Discovery.
It's big. Really big.

Apollo Capsule...

May the force - or a cute little droid - be with your letter...

Univac 1232 computer: "Used from about 1967 through 1990....as part of a system that controlled and operated satellites for the Air Force, NASA, other government agencies, and commercial firms. The 1232 also supported Space Shuttle missions."
It kind of boggles the mind.

While the space hanger was captivating, there were lots & lots of airplanes to see too...

Oh. And if you're ever traveling north or south through Pennsylvania on Route 15, stop in Selinsgrove for lunch at the Selin's Grove Brewing Co. The food is excellent, everything is freshly made, and the beers aren't bad either!

Long overdue.

Here it is, a long overdue update on our Dave's progress.

He framed the closets...
Enclosing his message to the future.

Painted a coat of primer on everything...
Power roller sped the process along.

Oh look...me...being helpful.

The primer made a huge difference visually...

And now that we have pristine white walls, he is in the process of tearing up old floor tiles and the sticky, tarry mess under them...

Has anyone else noticed that Dave is smiling less these days?
